"There are books of the same chemical
composition as dynamite. The only difference is that a piece
of dynamite explodes once, while a book explodes a thousand
times”

WELCOME
TO GOTTHAMMER
The
online asylum of Mike Perschon
I'm currently working on a Doctorate in Comparative Literature at the
University of Alberta, while also teaching English part-time at Grant
MacEwan College and The King's University College. I'm husband to
Jenica, and father to Gunnar and Dacy. I am the author of
many articles (print and web) as well as the author of the serialized
blog novel Magik Beans. I am a pen and paper roleplayer. I am an
itinerant speaker, primarily to young people. I have been an
independent musician for over half my life, although I'm currently on
hiatus from that.
I'm interested in anything that reminds me of the first time
I saw a Dungeons and Dragons module at a toystore back in
the early 80's. I love the smell of print ink on a new book;
I get lost in bookstores and comic shops. I enjoy new sensual
experiences, be they laced with adrenaline or coated in icing
sugar. I love performance, both experiencing and expressing.
My gaming platform is my kitchen table. My son's laughter
motivates me, and I love to see my wife's eyes when her smile
reaches them.
I
have maintained an online presence for nearly a decade now,
and Gotthammer.com was my first personal site. It is the repository
of my early webworks, and as time allows in the near future,
it will also be the place where new works find a home.
In
the meantime, I blog like crazy, both at the blog mirror of
Gotthammer as well as my serialized fiction blog, Magik Beans.
I miss the luxury of time necessary to really work on Gotthammer.com,
and look forward to the day when I will return to it in force.
In the meantime, enjoy the blogs, as they will direct you
here when the time is right. Thanks for dropping by.
