    Some fundamentalist jerk once referred to Ellen DeGeneres as "Ellen DeGenerate" because of her sexual persuasion. I'd challenge anyone who might think the same way to take another look at this woman, simply as a person. You might not like the fact that Ellen's a lesbian, but she's far more cleancut and personable than most 'straight' comedians. One obligatory gay joke, and the rest of the evening is pure comedy on subjects so banal you'll wonder how you laughed so hard later on. This DVD, an HBO special, is one of the funniest nights of stand-up comedy I've gotten to enjoy. My wife and I were laughing so hard we couldn't breathe. Granted, you've got to like the woman's style, or it's all just dry humor, but anybody who can make me laugh that hard about procrastination can't be summed up in a cheap shot punning her name. There's a lot more to Ellen DeGeneres than "thay gay thing." She's a top notch comedian, and this performance proves it. Go rent it. NOW.
