I'm an experienced communicator, musician and spiritual director who uses all forms of media and art to communicate a radical postmodern Christian experience. Storytelling, humor and multimedia are woven together to entertain and ultimately convey powerful spiritual messages. I hold a Bachelor of Religion and a Bachelor of Arts from Taylor University college, as well as a Multimedia Developer's Certificate from NAIT.

Fee Schedule
1 Session: $300 plus travel and accomodation
Additional Sessions: $200 per session
Weekend camps(4 sessions): $600 + travel & accomodation
Week long camps(11 sessions): $1300 + travel & accomodation
* All prices are negotiable; any number of factors contribute to the price of a week. In the case of overnight events, I would appreciate the travel and accomodation arrangements to include my wife; as a rule, we do not accept billeting for accomodation except in the case of camps where accomodation is provided onsite.
To help in bringing my costs down, it is easier for me to work with material I have already developed. Unless you have a particular theme in mind, please consider some of the themes below and we can likely work out a lower price for my fee. Almost all of the themes can be adapted for the length of your event.
While I do use media from popular films, all clips used are covered by copyright under the "fair use" clause and are edited for content such as language, graphic violence, and/or nudity.
While I prefer to use media, it is not a "must have" and most of my sessions can be done without video support.
Tech Requirements
For sessions using multimedia, I require that the following be present and set up for my sessions:
Laptop or Computer, Pentium or better
Data Projector, at least 1400 lumens with Remote Control
VCR with Remote Control
Sound Reinforcement as per size of room
1 Technician familiar with all gear.
Prepared Themes:
Themes from Lord of the Rings
Possible themes for these sessions, which can be done as singles or part of a weekend or week-long series are:
1. Dealing with Magic in the Fantasy of Lord of the Rings, Narnia and Harry Potter;
2. The Ring as a metaphor for sin; once it takes hold, it never lets you go.
3. The Fellowship as an allegory of True Friendship (this could also include historical references to Tolkien's own fellowship, The Inklings)
4. The Road of Trials leads to victory
5. Reward and Rest await the faithful
6. We are all called to an adventure
Life as a Haunted House
Great for Halloween events, these sessions communicate a basic Gospel message using a Haunted House metaphor. While God has made us to be a 'beautiful house' sin in the form of 'ghosts' has marred things. A 'true cleansing' is necessary before God can begin working on a 'new house.'
The Heroic Journey
Based on Joseph Campbell's analysis of the mythic "Hero's Journey" these sessions deal with the Christian life from a Heroic perspective. Includes sessions on the call of the Christian life, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, life's "road of trials," the 'treasure of Heaven' and the 'return home.'
My Little World
An overview of the book of Revelation and how it relates to us personally in 'our little world.' Not an exploration of the end-times so much as an exploration of what the prophetic message of Revelation has to say to us today, here and now, in the time we are living. One of the key themes is that each day has it's own "end time".
God's Romance
The basic gospel message, told using the theme of the fairy tale rescue of the princess; great for medieval theme events.
God vs. Godzilla
Using the themes of disaster and classic monster movies, these sessions look at how God enters into the chaos of our lives to help us through the storm.
Cinemaprophecy
These seminar style sessions explore how the medium of popular film can be utilized in personal and public worship and in learning environments to communicate spirituality. Learn how just about any movie, even ones like Pulp Fiction or American Pie can be utilized to enhance one's connection to God and their faith community. Basic video editing will be discussed in these sessions, as well as the concept of determining what's appropriate to show for what age levels.
Psychomachia
Seven sessions on the seven deadly sins of Sloth, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Envy, Wrath and Pride, and how God enters into the spiritual battle (Psychomachia) to bring us victory through transformation of the seven into the virtues they were meant to be.
