The
primary reason Gotthammer got built was a webcomic I'd been working
on for the Gathering based on the story of Joshua and Caleb as
part of our Lent media for 2002. When Lent was over, Joshua and
Caleb took up residence here at Gotthammer and I built the rest
of the site so there'd be potential for expansion. As it turned
out, my writing became more popular than my art and that's where
the focus of the site has been since 2003. I still putter away
at Josh and Caleb and I still sketch and doodle, but art takes
a backseat to writing currently.
I've taken down the main gallery to work on rebuilding it;
it was a reflection of my experimentations with digital coloring
and photomanipulations. It did not represent my best work, just
the work I did in the years since Gotthammer went active. So
in the next few months I'll be replacing the old art with a
gallery of my best work, reflecting the entire body of my artwork
over the years.
In
the meantime, I'll have Joshua and Caleb here to keep you all
company, and I promise...it'll be done by March, the fourth anniversary
of the site and of the webcomic. Wow. Only 4 years to produce
what will be 50 pages of sequential art. Is there a record for
slowest webcomic in the universe?
Ah
well. At least it's going to be finished. Unlike some comics...like
Battle Chasers (coughs into his hand). Joe Mad...get off your
ass and finish that thing already!
